Ok, maybe I need man...

I physically can't go in my kitchen. The thought of it makes me want to hurl and run for the nearest bathroom. My love for all things food will be put on hold until we get a nice male to come and clean up an unsightly scene in our kitchen. What could possibly be so terrifying, so foul, so unpleasant that Natalie, yes, Natalie would consider starving herself?

It's this:
For the record, I did NOT take this picture - nor did any of my roommates. That is the beauty for google image my friend.

Yes, we have a mouse in the house. It has been up for debate for about a week now whether or not this creature was residing in our home. Brooke had thought she had seen it about a week ago. However, lack of substantial evidence made me, Kenzi and April doubt it's existence - and also question Brooke's sanity (kidding).

A couple of days ago we discovered our first clue that we had an unwanted tenant. A cookie wrapped in plastic wrap sat on our counter overnight. In the morning, the plastic wrap had been chewed through - by something very small. Still, this one clue didn't fully convince us that this mouse existed.

Until yesterday morning when April turned on the kitchen light and saw a small mouse dart across our counter and scurry down behind the stove. Immediate action would be required. Brooke purchased a mouse trap:

Mackenzi chlorox beached the counters and all surfaces of our kitchen:

We named him Gus and welcomed him to met his death:

We chose to place the trap by the fridge. Brooke's first sighing of Gus was running behind the fridge. We thought it would be the appropriate place to find him.

I tossed and turned last night afraid of the scene that I would most definitely wake up to this morning. And sure enough, this morning, there was a dead mouse trapped by the mouse trap lying on the floor. SICK!

So, I need a man to come clean him up. Who wants to volunteer their husband?

Ok so I almost threw up when I saw it this morning. I text Home Teacher Brian and am bribing him as I type to come clean this thing up for us. So gross!!!

that was a disgusting tale. just because you have a blog doesn't mean that you have to share this with all of us.

in other coincidental news: i had a dream last night that the house i was living in had a mouse in the kitchen. one of the boy roommates discovered it and took care of the situation. i thought the dream was totally random, not a premonition.

Hate to tell you, but if you see one mouse, that usually means there are more. I'd keep a few traps around the house, in closets, etc for a while. At my last house we had a bunch. I thought I only saw "one", but I think it ended up being like 6. We finally had to take everything out of our storage closet, clean it out really good and set a bunch of traps in there. Then we moved... so who knows what the next people are experiencing.

Yes it is true what Diania says where there is a mouse there are mice. Did you know you can get the traps that have a little house over the top so you don't actually have to see the dead mouse you can just see the tail out of the end and you know he is in there and then you throw the whole thing away? Much better solution than the open air kind.

So if no one has taken care of the problem I assume that the mouse is still lying there on your kitchen floor. That seems worse than allowing it to run loose in the evenings. Buck up and clean it up yourself, or do you need your Dad to come over and take care of his little girl.

You must have noticed those yellow paper traps (can't think of the name) we have around at Bear Lake. When the mouse has a bite of crumbs in these he runs outdoors to get a drink of water and die and you don't have to even look at him. They are available at grocery stores and you could just leave them around the kitchen and other places to challenge them. They ar only about 4 inches long anf 1 1/2 inches wide. Rots of ruck@

I hate rodents and critters more than anything. We were dog sitting for my aunt last week and i took the dog outside around midnight to use the bathroom. As i was standing on the back deck i turned my head toward some movement. There it was a huge RAT! Ahh, i know how you feel and maybe we should go buy some cats!

On the one hand, I'm dizzy with nausea. On the other hand, you killed GUS!!! You know Gus, from Cinderella? Was he wearing a green shirt? My dad shot some mice with a BB gun on the day I was born, nice huh?

I'm with dad...buck up. Kidding. I don't touch that stuff. What's even more disgusting is people reuse those things after the mouse is in there dead. If it was me, the whole thing goes in the garbage, and I buy a new one! If you need some snakes to catch them, I've got those in my yard, feel free to come over!

p.s. I was thinking...you should call a guy you are interested in to come over and get the mouse because this could be how you meet your husband...good story for the question "how did you two meet?" -ha!
